Ladies and gentlemen

In November of 2004, the golf course was officially inaugurated and, since then, we celebrate annually, one of our most popular and prestigious events. It is a two-day golf competition, which takes place on Fridays and Saturdays, followed by a gala dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday night. This special event is known as Founders’ Weekend and this year it will be our 15th. It will take place on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 November of this year.

We are sure that many people in the Hacienda, especially the new owners and residents, do not know that golf and dinner are open to ALL owners, residents and their guests. Dinner and dancing on Saturday night will be a wonderful night.

This year, the Gala Dinner will take place at our own Sheraton Hacienda del Alamo Resort and Spa Hotel. It has taken a long time to arrive, but, finally, it is already open and we can celebrate our Founders Dinner there.

For golf, Friday’s competition will actually be “The Billy Sim Memorial Quaich” in memory of our first Golf Director, who also oversaw the construction of the golf course and helped make Hacienda a success. Sadly, he died on March 21 of this year, so this will be a very special commemorative competition for Billy.

The gala dinner is always a good excuse to wear the cheerful suits and dress elegantly. It is also a good opportunity to meet new and veteran people and, in general, enjoy yourself. The price of the gala dinner will be € 55, which includes a cocktail before, a three-course meal, all the refreshments, wine, water, tea and coffee, during dinner, awards ceremony and music by DJ Celes afterwards, so they can dance all night.

The deadline to register for the event will be Thursday, November 1st.

The dress code is Lounge Suit or Jacket and Tie for men, but several men actually wear a Dinner Suit, so if they really want to get dressed, then they certainly can. For the ladies, whatever they deem appropriate. Some of us will wear long dresses, so if you are thinking of wearing one, you will not be alone!

Founders is our most important event of the year and it would be amazing if most of the owners or residents, even if they do not play golf, attend the Gala Dinner, especially this year, as it will be at our own hotel for the first time.
